This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (WG-11) - Title 32, Position Description Number D0484000 and is part of the WI AASF 2, Wisconsin Army National Guard. **This vacancy is also advertised as Technician Job Announcement number 25-208B (WG/12)** (Only one position will be hired)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the WG-8852-11 level, you must have at least 18 months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
As a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (WG-11) - Title 32, WG-8852-11, you will perform the full range of aircraft maintenance duties including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and ground testing of assemblies, systems, and surfaces for one or more types of military aircraft, fixed and rotary wing. Perform duties and has responsibilities understood under the military designation of Crew Chief which involves full maintenance responsibility for a required minimum number of aircraft as determined by type of aircraft. Has responsibility for one or more subordinate employees who assist in the repair and maintenance of assigned aircraft. May be required to perform duties per the military definition of Flight Engineer. ***Indefinite positions are not permanent and have no guarantee to continued employment. Indefinite employees may be subject to separation from employment at any time with a 30 day written notification. If the position becomes permanent, employee may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition at management's discretion.
