To qualify for a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Using technical expertise in multiple logistical functional areas to successfully manage the logistics operations within the distribution center; Identifying specific requirements for funding, manpower, material, and services needed to support DoD and other agency continuity requirements; and Performing a variety of support functions related to logistics, procurement, transportation, receiving, loading, moving, and assembly. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: Work requires frequent extensive travel, many times on short notice in support of contingencies. While the work is generally sedentary, some walking and/or standing in and around storage areas or industrial operations is required in conducting studies or providing technical assistance. Work Environment: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Work is generally performed in an office type setting where the work area provides adequate light, heat, and ventilation. However, exposure to distribution operations and storage areas is often required where protective gear and observance of safety precautions are required.
Serves as the Deputy for the Project Support Office (PSO) with DLA Distribution.
Conducts and administers logistical support responsibilities that have significant impact of the ability of supported organizations to perform vital national security missions during contingency situations.
Reviews and monitors overall logistics program execution and adjusts as necessary based on circumstances and priorities.
Consults and coordinates activities with subject matter experts and representatives of other Federal, State and local government agencies.
Serves as the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for a large medical logistics support contract.
Manages west cost logistical plans, procedures, and checklists through administering effective supply management controls of continuity equipment stocks for support staff and PSO operations.
Serves as the warehouse and transportation manager, managing daily warehouse operations and maintenance associated with all applicable contracted requirements.
