Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1 year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. The United States is currently facing significant law enforcement challenges to include stopping illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational organized crime, and ending illegal trafficking of drugs and human beings. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado is currently accepting applications for Assistant United States Attorney positions to work in the Violent Crime and Immigration Enforcement Section (VCIE) and the Transnational Organized Crime and Money Laundering Section (TOCML). If selected, you will work closely with agents from the DEA, FBI, IRS, HSI, ATF, ICE and other state and federal agencies to develop investigative strategies, employ sophisticated surveillance techniques, and shape cases from their inception. AUSAs in these sections also enjoy fast-paced litigation practices that will frequently get them on their feet in US District Court. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
