The Clerks Administrator position is in the Department of Program Services, Court Services Office (CSO), Operations Branch. CSO is responsible for managing court administration and case management of resources, programs, and services.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience working for or with a clerks' office of a federal, state, or county court; providing direction and assistance in the programs and policies affecting operations; and assisting in the analysis, development, and implementation of best practices in a clerks' offices' operations.
CSO is seeking a self-motivated Clerks Administrator in the Operations Branch. The Clerk Administrator serves as the primary point of contact for Operations Branch management on high-level, time- sensitive research projects, including developing staffing scenarios based on case filings and trends; preparing projections as the result of actions such as recently enacted legislation, court rulings, or changes in Judiciary policy; and responding to inquiries from unit executives and their staff on a variety of matters. The ideal candidate must possess outstanding interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and written and oral communication skills, and has served as a senior analyst or specialist. The duties of the position may include, but are not limited to: Serving as a collaborative member of a team that prepares staffing resource allocations to appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts. Preparing meeting agendas, assisting with meeting notes, and distributing meeting summaries for advisory group meetings and phone conferences. Providing comprehensive operations advice and support to Clerks and Chief Deputies for appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts. Serving as back- up regional administrator for assigned circuits. Conducting studies, providing on-site management consulting assistance, identifying operational and administrative issues, recommending solutions to court management, and drafting written reports supporting those recommendations. Assisting in planning and executing Court Services Offices hosted conferences (New Unit Executives and Deputies Orientation) and other national conferences. Developing and disseminating procedures, guidelines, training, and court operational information through conferences, formal training seminars, publications, memoranda, and telephone contacts. Assisting in the analysis, development, implementation, and management of new court programs.
