This position is in the Operations Section, Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Branch in the Operations Division, Response Directorate. The ideal candidate for this position will experience valuating and managing plans, policies, and operational procedures related to the National Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Response System's (the System) Readiness Assessment Program (RAP).
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will provide effective response assistance to state and local governments for the location, medical stabilization, and extrication of survivors of structural collapses, including those involving the use of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives (CBRNE). Typical assignments include: Developing, coordinating, evaluating, and managing the US&R training programs, applications, plans, policies and operational. procedures related to the US&R program and for disaster operations at the national, regional, State, and local levels. Preparing responses to a variety of correspondence and inquiries, often involving complex and sensitive subjects. Analyzing trends in program management to identify problem areas and to provide recommendations for corrective action. What else do I need to know?
