Job Description:

You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) in the Operations Division, Information Systems Department of NAVAIR TRAINING HUMAN CAPITAL MGMT GRP. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Information Technology work ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of systems, networks, or data through the implementation or maintenance of information systems security programs. Examples of specialized experience may include: evaluating IT security plans, policies, procedures, or measures to ensure they are properly applied to IT systems or networks; verifying compliance with cyber security/information assurance requirements; identifying vulnerabilities of information technology systems; ensuring networks are certified and accredited for information security. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. You will serve as Information System Security Officer / Activity Contract Technical Representative.
You will serve as an IT Security specialist and subject matter expert, advising assigned staff regarding the full scope of Information Security program matters.
You will provide expert guidance, professional advice, and recommendations regarding applicable, Federal, DoD, and DON IT policies to mitigate risk to the enterprise-operating environment.
You will assess and improve the security posture of the enterprise-operating environment and notify the ISSM of analysis in order to determine the probability of vulnerabilities and the best methodology to remediate them.
You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs and tools.
You will perform forensics analysis resulting from cybersecurity violations, unexplained information system performance anomalies and incidents, and data spillage.
You will recommend the adoption and implementation of new security and related information systems policies to ensure the continuous protection of the enterprise operating environment, programs, systems, and networks.
You will perform a wide range of functions that include providing IT support to the staff and oversight of end user devices that are utilized in direct support of the mission.
You will serve as the first line of response and analysis for IT related work stoppages on the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Local Area Network and Wide Area Network.
You will provide technical support to customers involving the planning and delivery of information technology services, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
You will develop briefings for leadership while providing status of Next Generation operations regarding implementation of the Next Generation contract.
You will assist the Information Systems Program Manager/Technology Point of Contact in monitoring the performance of the Next Generation contractor under multiple task orders regarding effectiveness and efficiency.
