About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Inns of Dyess. Regular Part Time (RPT) category position guaranteed to work 20 hours per week. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicants must have in general repair and maintenance in a variety of areas including common household plumbing, painting, patching of walls, electrical and carpentry. Must have general experience in the ability to use simple power tools, testing meters and painting equipment. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer programs such as word, power point, excel and email, must have the ability to learn Air Force Inns specific programs such as DLS and EAM. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 50 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 100 pounds with assistance. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Experience may have been acquired by actual job experience, trade school or any other affiliation which provides the knowledge and ability to perform these skills. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Position of Trust. Must be able to complete a Tier 1 Background Investigation. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license and forklift license for up to a 10K forklift. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Performs a variety of maintenance, custodial, and repair jobs to include electronic door entry system assets, simple carpentry, plumbing, painting, sheetrock, and maintenance repair of the lodging operation. Replace light bulbs, light fixtures, electric outlets, light switches & ceiling fan light kits, etc. Changes AC air filters as needed. Inspects and performs minor repairs on lodging equipment, that will include Plumbing duties, i.e., unclog drains, toilets, showers, replace rusted above ground pipes, fixtures, Installs, trouble -shoots, repair and maintains color television units, washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners and other domestic appliances. Performs minor maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators and stoves, by replacing doors, knobs, hinges, motors, thermostats, and sanitizing ice machines. Informs supervisor of major problems. Paints indoors and outdoors surfaces and structures, i.e., walls, floors, doors, and door frames. Performs various types of uncomplicated woodwork, furniture repairs drapery and blind installation and removal. Replaces broken and torn screens, performs repairs on windows and frames as required. Repairs and performs maintenance on small equipment and appliances to include hand tools, vacuums, irons, carpet shampooers, weed-eaters, small lawn mowers, etc. Uses manual and gas/electrical tools, i.e., hedgers, clippers, and blowers. Accomplishes landscaping/ground keeping tasks to ensure trees, shrubs, plants are waters, pruned, trimmed and applying ice control material to entrance of buildings, shoveling/plowing snow, picking up litter throughout season. Ensures grounds remain attractive and professional throughout the season. Investigates any reported maintenance issues to ascertain cause and take corrective action. Works independently, plans workday accordingly with little or no supervision. Completes and maintains applicable work logs. Operates vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds, completes Air Force Form 1800 and maintains vehicles in accordance with the established guidelines. Manages a scheduled vehicle preventative maintenance service program for all lodging vehicles. Uses and maintains tools and equipment, maintains bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, etc. at prescribed levels. Utilizes hand and power tools such as drills, power saws, routers, and standard hand tools. Performs all monthly facility safety self-inspections requirements, i.e., fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and exit signs. Counts and sorts dirty linens for contractor pickup, counts and distributes clean linens and acts as the Quality Assurance Evaluator for the Linen Contractor. Conducts monthly inventory of all linen. Provides replacement linen counts to management for ordering to maintain a minimum 4 par stock level on all linen. Maintains and files all linen inventory counts (monthly) and Contractor's invoices for a 2-year period. Other duties as assigned.
