Job Description:
You will serve as a DEPUTY REPAIR OFFICER in the Deputy Repair Officer, Repair Department (Code 300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
GS-14: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in maintenance and technical management, including the definition, planning, guidance, and execution of industrial refit maintenance for TRIDENT submarines in a timely, effective, and efficient manner. Experience in organizational and resource management, including the revision of organizational structure, generation of department-level instructions, procedures, and policies, staffing, financial planning, and budgeting. Experience in supervision and personnel management, serving as a senior department civilian providing overall supervision to both civilian and military workforce through first, second, and third-level supervisors. You will operate in concert with the Repair Officer to define, plan, prepare for, guide, and execute performance of industrial refit maintenance and related activities for TRIDENT submarines in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
You will address and resolve such issues as the tight 35-day refit periods and Extended Refit Periods allowed for refitting each submarine
You will conduct continuous analyses of new and changing operational schedules, modifications, maintaining plans, problem reports, and related considerations to determine near and long-term requirements.
You will delegate financial planning, estimating, budgeting, managerial control, and reporting functions, including preparation of near and long-term department budgets and cost analysis of special operational issues.
You will provide management and decision authority over civilian personnel issues such as performance management, awards, training, personnel actions, etc.
