Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the TEST AND WORK CONTROL DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience as a professional engineer directing and overseeing engineering projects for the repair, maintenance, modernization, or certification of surface ships and surface ships systems. • You will be responsible for the technical planning and certification of Submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical test program related to work accomplished by the Shipyard.
You will plan the work to be accomplished by subordinates in the planning effort of the various projects.
You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and gives advice or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
You will implement process improvement to increase quality of the products delivered.
You will assist with process improvement, Lean initiatives, and other duties in support of Test and Work Control Division.
