About the Position: This position is located in Directorate of Dental at Schofield Barrack, HI. A locality rate of 22.21% has been authorized for Hawaii. A cost-of-living allowance has been authorized for Hawaii at the rate of 8.64% (subject to change). The Dental Clinic is a tobacco-free workplace. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience using an automated information system to track and maintain information and records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
As a Medical Support Assistant (Office Automation), you will perform a full range of receptionist, recordkeeping and miscellaneous clerical duties within the ambulatory setting.
Enter, manipulate, and/or retrieve information and data from various automated systems.
Coordinate and/or schedule patient appointments with various clinics or at other medical treatment facilities.
Receive patients and visitors as the initial point of contact in person or telephonically.
Resolve complaints of a local administrative nature and refers other complaints to appropriate authorities.
Maintain both electronic and paper patient records.
