THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D2125000 and is part of the 174TH ATKW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Military Grades: Enlisted Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant's demonstrated ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures that otherwise validate the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS 09: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. GS 11: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Must have experience ensuring education and training programs are applied consistently throughout the Wing and supported units. Must have experience forecasting education and training requirements and obtains NGB validation and resources. Must have experience being responsible for arranging for basic and formal technical school training, as well as subsequent formal and on-the-job training, progression to higher skill levels, and other certifications or qualifications as required. Such training is vital and critical, not only for the effectiveness of the military mission, but also for individual career progression.
As a Training Technician, GS-1702-9/11, you will serve as the Force Development Manager and office of primary responsibility (OPR) for unit training programs managed in support of the Wing and its geographically separated units (GSUs). The office provides technical guidance and assistance to commanders, managers, and supervisors at all levels regarding education and training programs in support of federal, state and local missions, ensuring programs are in place to manage upgrade, qualification, in-garrison, expeditionary training and other military training functions as well as to administer post high school technical education and college programs.
