Job Description:
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the TECHNICAL DIVISION (SP20)/FIRE CONTROL & GUIDANCE BRANCH (SP23) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS.
In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: professional engineering experience with conducting technology development to support advanced guidance, navigation or control systems concepts and subsystems, and identifying budget and contracting requirements. You will provide direct support to the Guidance Test and Development Section Head.
You will lead the technical direction for activities of contractor teams in the formulation, design development, and documentation of the software and hardware for Guidance systems.
You will coordinate with contractor teams to achieve an integrated solution to the guidance problem considering missile thrust profiles and dynamics, and reentry trajectories and dynamics.
You will coordinate with contractor teams to achieve an integrated solution to the energy management, computer sizing, timing, control and sequencing; and steering and navigation equations.
You will participate and leads cross functional working groups including other branches, contracts and external organizations that support Nuclear Delivery Systems (NDS) and other Advanced Payload programs.
You will direct the preparation of hardware and software test and evaluation plans and requirements for guidance systems supporting advanced payloads, including design verification/validation, and qualification phases.
You will ensure that these plans are documented and coordinated with the Guidance System contractors and other testing activities planned for inertial sensors and radiation hardened parts/components.
You will be responsible for identifying the budget and contracting requirements the support cost, schedule and technical requirements necessary to execute a follow-on program and provide that information to leadership.
