This announcement uses the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and expericence requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Requirements for 1306 series can be found here The following competencies are needed for this position: Expert knowledge of principles of health physics and related disciplines to analyze and resolve complex problems. Expert knowledge of radiation safety to incorporate new regulations and protocols to training for the ATC Workforce. Skill in resolving existing or potential problems relative to health physics and radiation safety. Ability to select, interpret and adapt health physicist precedents to participate in long range planning for radiation safety studies involving radiation (ionizing and non-ionizing) projects and programs. Ability to investigate accidents and incidents involving ionizing or non-ionizing radiation, and of occurrences involving potential radiation overexposure.
