You will serve as a LOFTER in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

You will be working from blueprints, tables of offsets, computer aided design equipment, and other design information.
You will be performing full and partial submarine hull circulatory layout and measurements using optical measuring devices such as transits and theodolites in conjunction with micrometers, and templates.
You will be laying out ships lines to full dimension or to scale.
You will be employing woodworking machinery, hand tools, optical detailing tools and drawing equipment in the lofting process.
You will be marking templates, drawings and sketches with appropriate information to assist in the fabrication and erection of structural work.
You will be making wood mock-ups to assist in the forming, shaping and assembly of structural material.
