QUALIFICATION: Supervisory experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and instruct and guide others in implementing required solutions. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree that includes 24 semester hours in accounting. OR Four years combination of education and experience in accounting. The quality of experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the professional knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the caliber of duties described above and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in accounting. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing through the delivery of formal presentations and reports. Demonstrated ability to evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with policies and procedures. Preferred: Experience in Non-appropriated Fund accounting. *****Experience MUST be reflected on resume to receive credit.*****
Serves as the Director of Accounting for Defense Finance and Accounting Service.
Supervises two division directors of accounting and subordinates providing accounting services to over 170 customers and makes assignments by outlining the overall objectives and the resources available.
Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate supervisors who guide and control work of professional and technical personnel.
Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors and establishes priorities and schedules.
Enforces safety and health to ensure the safety and health of employees. Shouldn’t rules, corrects unsafe or unhealthy conditions, investigates mishaps and takes other actions necessary.
