Job Description:
You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS ASSISTANT in the Motor Transport Division (MTD) of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Perform analytical studies on all non-tactical transportation vehicle operations (e, g, inventory management, assignments, utilization, and dispatching); verify reports are developed completely in conformance with directives, orders, regulations, and federal, state and local laws and regulations; plan and establish processes for fleet utilization from misappropriation, misuse, and waste; and communicate to a diverse audience for guidance, resolutions, and/or recommendations. NOTE: This position requires working in various shops and operating areas being observed and may involve standing, walking, light lifting, bending, stooping, and some climbing on Non Tactical Vehicles. This position may be exposed to some noise and internal combustion exhaust fumes, heavy traffic patterns and adverse weather conditions typical of the locality when traveling to and from meetings and work sites.
You will perform independent analyses in the assigned area of responsibility involving Non-tactical Vehicle processes, work methods, data management, and day-to-day operational procedures.
You will deal with issues that are sometimes further complicated by the wide diversity and dispersion of organizations and activities involved, and by multiple policies and controls.
You will conduct research for problem resolution, incorporating solutions into transportation management processes and identifying areas for improvement.
You will develop and utilize methods for evaluating the effectiveness of transportation programs and services.
You will converse effectively with all levels of personnel including high-ranking management officials and competent in preparing and presenting accurate and valuable recommendations and briefings concerning critical issues.
You will show skill in transportation matters with experience in dealing with extremely broad and complex vehicle maintenance challenges for an extensive base fleet including light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
