Basic Qualifications: In order to meet basic qualifications for GS-2210 positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies defined below: 1. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations You qualify for this position if you meet the basic requirement listed above and possess one year of specialized experience as described below. Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Defining the scope and level of detail for information security plans and policies applicable to a security program; Leading implementation activities for information technology security projects; Assessing new information technology systems and designing methodologies to improve software quality; Resolving integration issues related to the implementation of new security systems within an existing infrastructure; and Reviewing proposed new information technology security systems, network, or software designs for potential security risks. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (InfoSec), you will perform the following duties: Direct, coordinate, and oversee work of subordinates within the division/branch and foster collaboration with division, OCIO and external partners; Implement higher-level security requirements resulting from laws, regulations or Presidential directives; Define the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the security program; Reviews and evaluated security and operational incident response policies and develops, implements, and coordinates incident response to minimize impact to the environment; and Develops long-range plans for IT security systems and network infrastructure operations and be proactive to anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with network infrastructure operations and IT system vulnerabilities.
