Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of JB PEARL HARBOR HICKAM SEC DET.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Investigating complaints while enforcing laws and regulations (i.e., Federal and State law, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Navy Regulations, Marine Corps Orders, and base regulations); 2) Directing day-to-day technical and administrative supervision to a group of police officers; 3) Providing guidance on Police, Security, Anti-Terrorism, and Law Enforcement policies and procedures; 4) Responding to critical incidents to ensure safety of the protection of lives or property; 5) Utilizing law enforcement equipment in order to perform security or law enforcement duties; 6) Establishing mission priorities to delegate and provide optimal law enforcement output. **NOTE: Your answer must be supported by information in your resume.** Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0000/police-series-0083/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Recurring and unpredictably strenuous physical effort is exerted when apprehending, subduing, and detaining persons, performing body searches, and using unarmed self-defense techniques. Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. and be able to carry or move persons weighing 180 lbs. such as accident or crime victims and hostile suspects. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The work environment regularly involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stresses which require a range of safety and other precautions (e.g., subject to possible physical attack by human means and/or various weapons or firearms). Routinely performs duties outdoors in various weather climates, conditions, and temperatures. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will develop force protection plans and procedures in accordance with an organization’s mission and objectives.
You will conduct daily inspections of posts and take immediate action to correct discrepancies noted.
You will assign work to law enforcement employees based on priorities and individual capabilities.
You will collect, record, or present evidence in court cases.
You will advise a chain of command of all serious or continuing incidents.
