Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: preparing, classifying individual and standard position descriptions (PDs) for occupations in the General Schedule (GS) and serving as a subject matter expert on routine to complex issues concerning classification and position management. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Prepares, classifies, evaluates, and develops individual and standard position descriptions (PDs) for occupations in the General Schedule (GS).
Serves as advisor and consultant providing recommendations and alternatives to assist management with position management to best meet the mission and organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Prepares and coordinates complete staff packages for management approval of position descriptions.
Keeps management officials advised of significant changes in human resource policies, procedures, standards and programs.
Identifies and coordinates the resolution of position and organizational issues in classifying positions and establishing new or revised position descriptions.
