Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) for NAV RECRUITING DISTRICT COLUMBUS. "The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption."
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing solutions to military personnel programs issues; 2) Managing personnel actions (e.g., awards, promotions, schools, assignments, retirements and separations) in support of military personnel program management; 3) Utilizing military personnel data systems in support of military personnel programs; and 4) Preparing and presenting correspondence, reports and briefs to provide information used in decision making. You will evaluate human resource workforce performance to identify training and development needs for employees.
You will coordinate the indoctrination of new recruiters and personnel on military personnel practices.
You will develop performance management tools for managers and employees to utilize throughout the performance cycle.
You will manage an Incentive Award Program (i.e., Special Act, Time-Off, Meritorious Civilian Service, Beneficial Suggestion Awards, Quality Step Increase) to promote fairness and consistency across an organization.
