This position will be assigned to the Soundside and is not guaranteed a set number of hours but can be scheduled 0 - 40 hours per week. As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds; occasionally heavier objects with assistance. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to read room schematics to determine events layout to customer requirements. Must be able to interact with customers and provide support for their event. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license. Must be able to read, write and speak English. May be required to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Lifts and moves furniture, tables, etc. to arrange according to function lay-out. Sets-up and tears down portable dance floor and equipment required for lunch line and special functions. Makes minor repairs to furniture, i.e., tightening screws, etc.; notifies supervisor when replacement is needed. Performs seasonal tasks as required, such as, applying ice control material to entrances of buildings, shoveling snow, picking up litter around buildings, mowing grass, using heavy (not domestic type) power mowers, and watering lawns around buildings. Uses industrial grade wet vacuum and steam cleaners/shampooers as required to provide preventive maintenance to rooms and hallway carpets. Strips and cleans floors (vinyl and/or tile). Determines appropriate method and chemicals needed for cleaning areas. Responsible for daily cleaning and minor maintenance of all club vehicles. Checks vehicle tire pressure and fluid levels. Utilizes vehicles as needed to make deliveries of merchandise and supplies. Notifies supervisor when replacement of items is more economical. Coordinates repairs that need to be done by CE with supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned.
