You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the COMMANDER, NAVAL SURFACE FORCE, U.S. PACIFIC FLEET (CNSP) of NAVSURFPAC READSUPGRU. "The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Supervisory Mechanical Engineer overseeing the planning, implementation and execution of ship repair and modernization to ensure operational readiness for Surface Fleet projects. You will be responsible for the overall planning, direction and timely execution of the Port Engineering (PE) Program.
You will provide leadership, training and guidance for all Surface Force Port Engineers.
You will develop and administer basic and ongoing training program for all port engineers.
You will provide guidance to ship commanding officers to evaluate their port engineers.
You will oversee all work operations for port engineer ship assignments.
You will develop long-range strategic plans that incorporate known and projected manning requirements.
You will develop and validate material support requirements by approving the allocation and distribution of funds within the organization's budget.
You will demonstrate executive level oral and written communication skills while presenting opinions and recommendations to advance levels of military and civilian personnel.
You will develop and maintain performance review and evaluation process for all assigned personnel.
