Job Description:
You will serve as Principal Technical Manager for Modernization and Installation of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).
The applicant is to provide a separate narrative statement which describes fully, but concisely, how his/her experience supports each of the following Mandatory Technical Qualifications. Each technical qualification narrative should not exceed 2 pages. Failure to address these specific qualifications in a separate narrative statement will eliminate you from consideration: 1. Strong science and technology background in an engineering discipline with an emphasis on air and missile defense technologies and other shipboard weapons and senor integration. 2. Strong background in acquisition program management and understanding of hazards associated with naval combat systems. 3. Knowledge of the Department of Defense acquisition process. 4. Knowledge of research and development (R&D), test and evaluation (T&E) and life cycle sustainment in surface Combat weapons systems, System interface, and Sub-systems associated with Modernization and Installation. 5. Ability to negotiate complex solutions within specific functional areas with major stakeholders. You will provide technical and managerial direction to research and development, test and evaluation and life cycle sustainment programs for surface combat weapons systems, system interface, and sub-systems.
You will oversee all efforts and aspects of Surface Combat and Weapon Systems Capability Engineering and Fielding, Integrated Product Support and Design.
You will provide expertise in identifying and maturing system data acquisition, transfer and analytical technologies used to increase combat and weapon system reliability, supportability, and maintainability.
You will integrate technologies related to many and varied disciplines, groups, and subsystems.
You will provide expertise and approval in rapid engineering and integration efforts to test, field, and sustain emergent rapid prototyping experimentation and deployment of warfighting capabilities and improvements.
