You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Global Deterrence Defense Department (GX), Program Management Division (GXL) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 (GS-12/13 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. You will functionally be a direct report to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD (R and E)) JHTO Deputy Director and organizationally to the Global Deterrence and Defense Director at NSWC Crane.
You will be responsible for leading and coordinating three primary Lines of Effort including JHTO Hypersonics Science and Technology Development Program, DoD Hypersonics Science and Technology Strategy, and DoD Hypersonics Work Force Development.
You will collaborate within the JHTO and other OUSD (R and E) organizations to ensure hypersonics technology projects are properly assessed and coordinated with respect to implementing an effective and affordable technology transition process.
The Deputy Director will also ensure the creation and implementation of hypersonics work force development strategy to address key technical skillsets in alignment with the DoD Hypersonics Science and Technology Strategy.
The Deputy Director will be fully responsible for executing the JHTO Hypersonics Science and Technology Development Program, including acquisition strategy, portfolio management, program development, and technology assessment.
You will be responsible for providing leadership and ensuring the development of execution plans, schedules, reports and the administration needed for managing the entire operation of the JHTO SE FA.
