The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details. The incumbent is expected to effectively manage Commercial LC and Documentary Collections Sections and ensure the Sections satisfactorily fulfil their daily processing requirements consistent with the department's goals. To assist the department in accomplishing its objectives, the incumbent is assigned the following Functions: (1) Workflow Management; (2) Quality Control and Customer Service; (3) Training; (4) Staff & Performance Management and (5) Provide Operational and technical Support for all U.S. Offices/Branches. (6) Strong skills and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Trade Finance and structured deals. Knowledge of BA acceptances, financing and regulatory guidelines to mitigate operational, reputational and compliance risks. (7) Special Projects and Support Management initiatives and goals RESPONSIBILITIES Workflow Management: Commercial LC, Documentary Collections, ensuring that: (a) all transactions, e.g. issuance, amendment, billing, or payments, etc. are completed within prescribed time frame, Sight and usance payments, investigations and (b) reported discrepancies are resolved in accordance with established procedures. Verify and release L/C’s, amendments, payments, and sign negotiable instruments in accordance with: (a) prescribed time frames and (b) authorization limits established by the Executive Management. Prepare assigned Production/Operation Reports to the Management with data necessary for: (a) evaluating the section's productivity, efficiency, and quality and (b) reporting 'key' accomplishments and critical issues to Executive Management Consultation on Trade Finance products/service: Provide Trade Finance technical support and guidance to account officers, middle office, product teams and customers of all US Branches/Offices, ensuring that L/C contents are complied with internal operating and compliance procedures, as well as industry practices from UCP, ISP and URC perspectives. Join product teams and A/C officers on customer calls Product Knowledge: Strong product knowledge, product developments and industry practice. Discuss and participate in Front Office/Legal Department’s discussion in structuring of complicated L/C deals. Customer Service: Ensure that all inquiries are properly documented, researched, tracked, and resolved, as per the procedures established. Review Commercial L/C Sections' procedures and controls and ensure that TSO’s procedure manuals are updated, reflecting changes on procedures, and alignment with governing Head Office guidelines Training: Provide updated information on industry developments in Trade Finance products. Coordinate and conduct the training to account officers, assistants, or middle offices or all North American Branches, covering Trade Finance product knowledge and operating procedures. Staff performance: Implement, monitor, and modify strategies for resolving identified performance gaps. Implement, monitor, and modify training program(s) designed to improve 'skill sets.' Compliance: Enforce compliance policies and procedures and other directives relating to Trade Finance operations. Special Projects: Participate in Project initiatives and encourage staff participation. REQUIREMENTS 5-10 Years of Management and Operational expertise Commercial L/Cs. Thorough knowledge of UCP, URR, ISBP, OFAC/ Anti-boycott/ other Compliance regulations. Good PC, communication and analytical skills. Ability to manage onshore/ offshore staff and Trade360 system knowledge a plus. The typical base pay range for this role is between $84K - $114K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
