Job Description:

The position is located in the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Infrastructure Operations (IO), Facility Management & Services (FMS). FMS plays an integral role in the daily operation and maintenance of the GAO Headquarters (HQ) Building and oversees lease agreements and building services at GAO field offices. FMS manages the Health and Safety Unit and is divided into three branches, Property, Shared Services and Facilities.
You must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band AC-IV, CS-II, PE-I, PT II or GS-12 in the federal service, which has equipped you with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Managing and overseeing a personal property inventory program. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Supervisory Property Management Specialist, MS-1101-1, your typical work assignments may include the following: - Designs, plans, and carries out special projects and/or reviews to assist the Director on matters relating to program or operational effectiveness. - Serve as GAO's main point of contact for the implementation of its personal property policy. - Plans and conducts auditing of GAO's property inventory operations, processes, and programs. - Develops, justifies, and controls the information on budget. - Performs full range of supervisory functions. (Assigns work and establishes workload priorities; reviews/accepts/rejects work; provides necessary direction, instructions and guidance to the staff). - Analyze and evaluate GAO's property management inventory shortfalls and provide viable solutions. - Maintain supporting documents for all property adjustments in compliance to regulatory guidance
