Job Description:
This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at the Angelo Inn, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in supervising the work of subordinate employees in accomplishing custodial work. Experience and knowledge gained in a military lodging program or commercial hotel/motel housekeeping is preferred. Must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions and speak English. Must be able to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment. Must be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets, frequently pushing carts, weighing more than 100 pounds, loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete aTier-1 background investigation.
Assist in planning, organizing, conducting, and managing a medium to large, expanded lodging housekeeping program in a Lodging operation with 175 to 799 rooms, to include assist in establishing personnel management policies for the housekeeping operation in line with the personnel policies of the AF and local lodging operations. Indirectly supervises a work force of employees primarily classified as Custodial Workers, NA-3566-1, and Laborers, NA-3566-02 through subordinate supervisors, while formulating, implementing, coordinating, and controlling a comprehensive lodging housekeeping program. Assists in determining long-range, intermediate, and short-range program goals and policies independently or jointly with higher management, while assisting in developing and implementing organization structures and operating plans and procedures to achieve program goals, monitoring effectiveness and efficiency of operations with within the established framework, and makes adjustments as necessary. Accountable for the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned employees to include: hires, promotes, motivates, disciplines, and separates employees. Assists in assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinates, and evaluates their work performance; approving or disapproving sick leave, annual leave or other absences from work; planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations, solving problems related to the work supervised; determining equipment and supplies needed, and explaining and gaining the support of subordinates for management policy and goals; and for dealing effectively with employee and representatives of personnel on employee suggestions, complaints, grievances, and other matters. Responsible for maintaining documentation to prepare as needed budget information such as, housekeeping personnel expenses, cleaning supplies, and resale sundry stock.
