Job Description:

You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the Lifting and Handling Technical Department, Code 710, of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience providing managerial support for major crane engineering projects or similar projects having an impact on an organization ability to perform their mission; 2) Experience directing and accomplishing work through subordinate supervisors and employees based on functional responsibilities, priorities, their abilities; 3) Experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating designs, proposals and ideas of other engineers; 4) Experience resolving difficult and unusual problems and referring to management with recommended solutions; 5) Experience applying the latest technology advances to lifting and handling or other professions; 6) Experience exercising technical control of work performed by the shipyard regarding nuclear and non-nuclear work by concurring on conditions that must be established for production work to maintain the lifting and handling equipment in a safe condition. You will plan, organize, control, monitor, training, and manage the division in order for the division to provide lifting and handling engineering support in order to support the mission and objectives of the Lifting and Handling Department.
You will manage oversight of strategic planning, maintenance engineering, waterfront engineering, rigging engineering, lead yard engineering, and process improvements for the Lifting and Handling Department.
You will necessary managerial and administrative duties associated with the operations of the Division.
You will establish manpower and budget requirements.
You will anticipate and plan for future workload requirements, future personnel utilization, emerging technology and evolving missions.
