About the Position: This position is located at Reynolds Army Health Clinic in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This is a Direct Hire solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is an open continuous announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for a Supervisory Health System Specialist: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying policies, regulations and/or directives applicable to a disability evaluation system; planning and/or preparing medical evaluation board processing and/or disability reevaluations; and Experience conducting briefings or training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. NOTE: You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Counsel military personnel from all branches of the uniformed services, retirees, and the Families of those being processed through the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (APDES) on their rights, benefits, privileges or obligations.
Identify problems and recommend changes to command policies and improvements to processes and services provided to service military members and their Families.
Advise, counsel and/or instruct employees on both work and administrative matters.
Apply sound judgment, ingenuity, and persuasiveness in motivating apathetic or negatively inclined individuals, including psychiatric, seriously ill and terminally ill patients, to apply for benefits for which they are eligible.
Provide reports, briefings, training, and responds to inquiries from senior leaders, DA or Department of Defense.
