About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Eglin NAF Resource Management Laborers Office. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida. Position is Regular Part-time (RPT) guaranteed 20-34 hours per week and schedule may include weekends and holidays. RPT employees receive benefits (Health/Life Insurance; 401K & AFNAF Retirement Plan; Annual/Sick Leave and Holidays).

Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead 3 or more maintenance workers and laborers to accomplish facility and ground maintenance. Must have functional experience and demonstrated knowledge of maintenance procedures and the ability to build teams and work with others. Experience and Knowledge of the proper use and routine operator maintenance of hand tools and equipment. Knowledge of location and proper storage requirements of material, tools, and equipment they handle. Ability to understand common signs and read general instructions, follow oral instructions. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. May be required to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier with assistance and perform frequent bending, lifting, and have good manipulative dexterity of fingers, bands, and arms.
As a working leader, performs the following duties: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress, production, adherence to quality and safety standards. Instructs and trains new employees. Elevates unresolved employee complaints or operational issues to supervisor. Provides input on performance, progress, and disciplinary problems. Reports all repair and maintenance requirements according to established policy. Reports all safety violations to immediate supervisor. Performs Maintenance Worker and/or Laborer duties as time permits or as assigned by supervisor. Conducts visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of, repair work associated with various trades, such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, and Electrical in and around FSS activities. May perform a variety of general laboring tasks involved with the maintenance of these facilities and grounds. Operates power mowers, trimmers and other handheld power tools and equipment as needed.
