This position is located in Gulf Islands National Seashore, in the Facility Maintenance Division. This job announcement is open to receive applications from the first 100 applicants. SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs water treatment duties, and a current Florida Water Operator Class C License is required. As a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator you will perform the following duties: Maintains, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates utility systems. Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems, and water closets, tubs, sprinklers, and showers. Completes water treatment filtration processes to change the taste, odor, physical, chemical, or bacteriological content of water. Performs microbiological tests such as inoculation and incubation of outgoing water samples. Enters data in automated software systems required for the administration of utility related projects. Purchases equipment, materials, and supplies for utility related work. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
