Job Description:
You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Product Engineering Branch (GXMP), Strategic Microelectronics Division (GXM), Global Deterrence Defense Department (GX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14/15. Open to applicants at Current Organizational Code GX (includes divisions, branches, and sections).
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist, analyzing and evaluating technical project resource requirements to develop, plan and execute project schedule, milestones and deliverables for improved efficiency and execution of program operations. You will be responsible for the life cycle of electronic component support for various Navy, Air Force, and Missile Defense customer sets supported within the Strategic Microelectronics Division.
You will be required to work with the Program Office, Prime Contractors, Designers, and other agencies such as Defense Logistics Agency, Part Manufacturers, and Test Labs.
You will be required to support efforts in the following areas: awareness of manufacturing sources and an understanding of respective processes for each commodity, including design and construction.
You will be required to support efforts in the following areas: design applications and limitations, electrical test methods and techniques, radiation effects, military specifications and test methods, and program requirements and documentation.
You will serve as team leader to coordinate parts issued for the customer across the radiation effects competency areas in the Division.
