Job Description:
You will serve as a Combined Trades Supervisor I (Cranes) in the Lifting and Handling Department (Code 700), Crane Maintenance Division (Code 730) of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. You will supervise a work team to perform maintenance and repair on the Shipyard fleet of lifting and handling assets.
You will plan and supervise the day-to-day execution of crane maintenance work to ensure project goals are met.
You will demonstrate understanding of future planning on a week-to-week basis and/or project-to-project basis.
You will assign tasks, tools, equipment, and materials to workers, lay out work for the work team, review plans and instructions for accuracy and workability.
You will instruct workers on proper work methods, use and care of equipment, and safe work practices.
You will resolve working problems and take action to overcome equipment breakdowns, material shortages, and other delays, requesting special permission, decisions, or assistance from higher levels of authority as necessary.
You will perform administrative duties required for the position utilizing SUPDESK and will maintain accurate charging, computer programs such as; ATMS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, surveillance and LHWI databases, etc.
