To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Managing daily operations in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment while providing clear direction and guidance to subordinates. Working with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to provide supply & inventory management oversight. Analyzing various documents and conducting research to identify relevant item planning process information. Participating in sensitive warfighter support planning meetings. Collaborating with the customer to develop forecasts for items that have demonstrated demand patterns, and for those that support the application of statistical methods of prediction. B. Education Substitution: Education cannot be substituted in place of specialized experience for this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serves as the Chief of an Item Planning Division with responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and integrating the work of a staff responsible for a wide range of item planning activities.
Represents the organization in high-level warfighter support planning meetings with various Military Service entities.
Manages and directs subordinate supervisory, technical and administrative personnel.
Applies analytical principles/techniques and a comprehensive knowledge of item planning missions/functions/programs to supervise operations.
Analyzes trends or conditions affecting the Item Planning Division's activities and provides comprehensive customer and Agency support for assigned programs.
Reviews and approves the substance of reports, decisions, case documents, contracts, or other action documents to assure that they accurately reflect the policies and position of the organization, and views of the agency.
