This position is part of the Agency Force Protection, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Emergency Services Dispatcher, PG-2151-7, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-05 level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private sector that includes: 1) Processing information into databases related to incident support; 2) Maintaining communication logs and summary reports; 3) Utilizing dispatching procedures and equipment to dispatch police, fire, medical, etc., to related emergencies; and 4) Utilizing Everbridge Critical Event Management Platform (ECEMP) software equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (06/30/2025) to be considered.
Utilize Everbridge Critical Event Management Platform (ECEMP) and other critical event management software, to create incident workflow intelligence for specialty teams.
Monitor all risk activity of Law Enforcement emergencies and medical emergencies.
Operate communication devices and equipment to communicate with and dispatch emergency response teams.
Launch mass communication notifications to individuals or groups to keep them informed, before during and after critical events and emergencies.
Record and maintain communication logs, radio transmissions, and other significant telephone situations.
Receive and transmit emergency calls and route to proper units/teams.
