Job Description:

You will serve as a SENIOR FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command FEC Capital Improvements Business Line (CIBL), Design Division, of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.
Selective Placement Factor (SPF): This position has an SPF which is CURRENT registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the discipline of Fire Protection Engineering in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or Guam. Do you meet this requirement? Note - If you respond "YES," you MUST provide a copy of your current registration with your application. NOTE: A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing fire protection engineering design drawings, specifications and documentation for facility components and systems; 2) Preparing contract requirements, proposal and bidding procedures and documentation for the acquisition of facilities fire protection systems; 3) Managing fire protection projects to ensure project scope, schedules and costs are not exceeded; 4) Providing technical solutions to fire protection engineering issues. You will serve as the Senior Fire Protection Engineer providing technical fire protection engineering expertise (leadership, training, and mentoring) for buildings and structures.
You will create hands-on fire protection design drawings and specifications for planning, design, construction, operation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems.
You will facilitate information sharing, coordination, and distribution of technical data within NAVFAC FEC and Architect-Engineering (A-E) firms.
You will apply innovative technical principles, practices, theories or state-of- the-art methods to resolve technical and administrative issues.
You will serve as point of contact for vendors and manufacturers associations review of products and information and their application to business lines.
You will interpret laws, regulations and policies to effect good business decisions and successful project execution.
