This position is located at Newman Fitness Center, Fort Stewart, GA. This is a Regular Full-Time position with a minimum work week of 40 hours and eligible for benefits. Must be available to work Monday through Friday 0430 (4:30 AM) to 1300 (1:00 PM). Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Highly Desirable Criteria: Possession of a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification. Applicants who meet the Minimum qualifications, & Highly Desirable Criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list.
Serves as Facility Assistant in a fitness facility. Works under the direction of the Fitness Facility Manager. Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility.
Duties include adjusting due to changes in program demand or hours of operation and assisting in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance or referral as appropriate. Assists with publicity of programs and events assists with marketing of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Assists with the inventory of property. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
