THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1899000 and is part of the KS United States Property And Fiscal Office, National Guard.
Military Grades: O-5 through O-6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level (GS-12) Specialized experience includes: Advise on installation logistics, transportation, and supply readiness status of units. Identifies, evaluates, and makes recommendations for required support available, concerning overall plans and proposals for current and future operations. Experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.
As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-13, you will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignment, and the capabilities of employees. Provide employees with advice, counsel or instruction on both work and administrative matters. Maintain military and full-time strength through recruiting and retention programs. Interview candidates for positions in the unit and selects appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, provides or arranges for needed development and training, and maintains an effective leadership/career development program. Make critical judgments and on-the-spot decisions regarding the safety of assigned personnel. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher level management. Initiate action to correct performance or conduct problems. Effect minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommends action in more serious disciplinary matters. Ensure the Equal Employment Opportunity Program is effective. Establish channels of communication within the division to keep personnel informed and provides feedback. Find ways to improve or increase the quality of the work directed. Develop performance standards, explains performance expectations, and evaluates the work performance of subordinates. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period.
