Job Description:

You will serve as a COMPUTER ENGINEER in the ALRE Department, Launch, Recovery & EAF Division, Mark 7 Arresting Gear Branch of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Perform in a computer engineering subject matter expertise (SME) capacity on Aircraft Launch & Recovery Equipment (ALRE). 2. Make critical decisions of an engineering nature and provide guidance to the Fleet and commercial contractors to ensure proper application of computer engineering principles and practices and software configuration management (CM) on ALRE Programs. 3. Demonstrate sound technical work experience in the theory, operation, performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Aircraft Launch & Recovery Equipment Software. 4. Articulate mastery of Aircraft Launch & Recovery Equipment technology, including: formulating, analyzing, and utilizing novel and innovative technical solutions for improving system effectiveness.5. Demonstrate technical work experience in the network testing and evaluation of designs to modify and extend theories for alternative software solutions. 6. Experience in shipboard installations for Aircraft Launch & Recovery Equipment Control Systems. 7. Experience in the software development process for Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment. You will serve as the Technical Expert for all matters related to computer engineering concerning the design, development, analysis, and in-service of the Advanced Recovery Control (ARC) system for Mk 7 Arresting Gear.
You will have professional background, knowledge and experience in computer engineering combined with understanding life-cycle analysis and a thorough understanding of the operational characteristics and features of MK 7 Arresting Gear.
You will provide technical direction to the fleet/users on how to resolve Mk 7 Arresting Gear problems and conduct engineering investigations; determining root cause solutions.
You will provide subject matter expertise to commercial contractors, evaluate design concepts, evaluate software configuration management (CM) processes and recommend efforts which have the potential to improve the MK 7 Arresting Gear.
