Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Innovation and Strategy Directorate, Data Analysis and Reporting Division, located in Washington, D.C.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Directing various components of Office of Field Operations and oversees the production of a wide variety of programs and services Providing efficient and timely coordination of major staff actions and events Advising EAC or senior leadership on relevant CBP matters (e.g., plans, initiatives, issues, futures, and policies.) Reviewing staff proposals for evaluation and performance management and modifies as necessary Managing and directing all operations and facilities related to programs, policies, and new and continuing initiatives of Office of Field Operations with operational functions that are worldwide NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 06/24/2025. This position will allow you to use your expertise in managing and overseeing various programs which have an agency-wide and government-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $167,603.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $195,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10). Typical duties include: Directing various components of OFO and oversees the production of a wide variety of programs and services Planning for short and long-term operations for OFO with a particular focus on interactions with and support from various Program Office personnel across CBP Reviewing all programs for effectiveness and ensuring that trends are identified and presented in concert with the urgency dictated by the condition; determining programs that require closer review and evaluation; provides OFO perspective on all CBP operational programs and serving as an integrator or lead on selected programs, projects and subprograms at the request of the EAC Reviewing staff proposals for evaluation and performance management; identifying and directing necessary corrective actions for programs and ensuring that successes and lessons learned are recognized and shared with other Program Offices Reviewing organization for efficiency of operation; identifying functional areas where revisions may be necessary and directing development of studies or concept plans to provide the necessary information for a final decision
