Job Description:

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL) of NRD SAN DIEGO. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Utilizing military policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain military personnel service records; 2) Researching information in military records and databases in order to respond to inquiries regarding military human resources issues; and 3) Utilizing automated systems to create and maintain military records. You will ensure compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to applicant testing and be responsible for scheduling, administering, scoring and transmitting the officer test to the appropriate commands.
You will ensure officer applicant meet basic eligibility and program authorization requirements for specific programs ensuring all requirements related to specific actions are met and in accordance with current regulations, policies and procedures.
You will draft/prepare related correspondence, reports or other documents as required for appropriate signature.
You will maintain liaison with other offices and activities both inside and outside the recruiting organization, utilizing the proper chain of command and maintaining courteous and tactful behavior and appropriate rapport.
