Job Description:
You will serve as a Mail Assistant of NAVSUP FLC PUGET SOUND.
GS-06:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; experience includes performing administrate and / or clerical work related to the processing of incoming and outgoing and outgoing mail using knowledge of United States Postal Service regulations and practices. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Receiving, sorting, collecting, metering postage, processing, delivering and directing the distribution of incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail; 2) Operating automated postal systems and/or similar mail handling equipment; and 3) Utilizing word processing and database software, such as Microsoft Office or similar system. GS-05:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector experience performing administrative and/or clerical work related to the processing of incoming and outgoing mail using knowledge of United States Postal Service regulations and practices. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Assisting in providing mail services support for an organization such as the control, processing, and delivery of incoming mail; 2) Operating automated postal systems and/or similar mail handling equipment; and 3) Utilizing word processing and database software, such as Microsoft Office or similar system. You will receive, sort, collect, meter postage, process, deliver, and direct the distribution of incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail, Messenger Mail, Inter-agency mail, and premium services such as FEDEX/UPS/DHL, etc.
You will certify and operate electronic / automated high volume mail processing equipment, electronic postage metering systems, electronic decision making scales, and other postal and mail center equipment.
You will record, control, sort, process, deliver/receive, and dispatch incoming and outgoing Accountable mail, Special Handling, Express Mail, and classified materials.
You will ensure all incoming and outgoing mail is in adherence with all USPS, DOD/DON , regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures for postal affairs and other applicable guidelines and laws.
