Job Description:

You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the SOFTWARE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or (DP-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) implementing software modernization (microservices, containerization, virtualization, etc.) 2) collaboration with Functional and IPT Leadership to develop strategies for software engineering process and software technology improvements. 3) responsibility to perform highly technical tasks that require the development, extension, and/or application of new software and computer concepts and technologies to airborne weapon systems. 4) concept formulation, planning, system and subsystem design, specification, and implementation of weapon system software. 5) recognizing the need for and be able to adapt and implement algorithms and advanced system and software technology into practical Fleet software. 6) identifying barriers to resolution of issues, establish gates and milestones necessary to resolve issues prior to it impacting a program level milestone, and prioritize the importance and urgency of each issue. You will serve as a Senior Technical Lead and provide weapon system software design expertise to groups of IPT personnel engaged in the performance of complex tasks which support broad Navy Program requirements and objectives.
You will be responsible for providing direct systems engineering/scientific and technical team leadership support to and advise the Chief Engineer on engineering requirements, technical issues, and risks related to software development.
You will identify, distribute and balance software engineering workloads in accordance with established workflow and skill, making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities and ensure timely accomplishment.
You will provide technical oversight and support strategic technical planning for all activities, serving as a hardware/software technical interface to engineer/engineering community on related software engineering activities and issues.
You will provide real-time access to subject matter experts (SMEs) for problem assessment and resolution and provide software engineering/scientific technical support and representation at Joint Deficiency Review Boards (JDRB).
You will provide technical oversight to integrate the Service Deficiency Reports (DR) priority backlog into the Program Increment (PI) priority workloads.
You will provide concurrence on contractor proposed changes to processes and Software (SW) development plans and provide capability assessment Demos.
You will represent the team in dealings with leadership for the purpose of obtaining resources, and securing needed information or decisions from leadership on major work problems and issues that arise.
You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments, as required, and coordinate the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to leadership.
