For GS-6 - You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: providing customer service, processing payroll and travel documents, records management, instructing others in administrative procedures, and editing correspondence. . For GS-7 - You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: meeting and dealing with customers using a high degree of tact and diplomacy; performing data entry for payroll and travel; advising employees on payroll and travel regulations and assisting with travel vouchers; interpreting policy; distributing and safeguarding personally identifiable information; implementing process improvement; liaison work with other offices such as Human Resources, Contracting or other Interagency partners; distributing new or updated policies and procedures to individuals or large groups of recipients. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
Enter financial data into automated financial accounting system, includes travel, payroll, and charge cards for employees. Resolve complex issues.
Assist managers, supervisors, employees, volunteers and customers with administrative functions and support; answer telephones, greet customers; present administrative training.
Review and perform technical audits of financial transactions. Conduct training. Identify ways to improve administrative processes based on policy limitations. Develop Standard Operation Procedures and training materials.
Purchase supplies and equipment. Maintain charge card files. View electronic records and report errors. Troubleshoot potential errors and recommend corrections.
Develop and formulate the office budget. Analyze historical financial data. Provide technical advice and assistance.
