Job Description:
This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Chief Operations Officer (OCOO), Campus Planning and Space Utilization (CPSU). This position is responsible for the execution of long-range space utilization plans to include current and future requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Examples of specialized experience are: You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates your ability to 1) track space allocations across multiple components; 2) Create solutions for shared space utilization and; 3) Identifying options for to increase efficiency of shared and private spaces. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Move Planning Specialist, GS-1601-13, your typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as a recognized expert on move planning and scheduling of office moves, providing authoritative advisory services to components and OA management. Interacts with EOP management, such as White House IT, White House Military Office, Physical Security and external/internal organizations for work planning and scheduling-related requests, issues, and problems. Monitors and keeps current all component and stakeholder agency occupancy assignments. Assists stakeholders in the early analysis of occupancies through collaboration with stakeholder points of contact, furniture asset managers, GSA, facilities management, and other experts as needed. Maintains space allocation records and ensure accountability and accuracy of space data. Tracks density and square footage by components. Maintains list of all VIP office locations to support emergency management and impacts from construction. Conducts projects and studies to assess the effectiveness of and provide recommendations to improve work planning and scheduling programs and processes. Participates in identifying, designing, developing, and implementing more efficient ways to deliver space planning and scheduling products and services to the EOP.
