About the position: This position will be assigned to the Hurlburt Lanes Bowling Center and is not guaranteed a set amount of hours, but can be scheduled 0 - 40 hours a week. As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. Qualifying Experience: No previous work experience or training is required. Must be able to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Conditions of Employment: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 (T1) background check. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Laborer in a developmental capacity performing a variety of manual tasks in lanes maintenance and bowling equipment service and repairs. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility; collects and removes trash; and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned. Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary, and performs periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Maintains stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems.
