Job Description:

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Dry Dock Safety Certification Program of the Independent Oversight Division in the Industrial Operations Directorate of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing engineering guidance on programs or projects for the improvement, design, development, maintenance, or repair of surface ships to ensure compliance with technical specifications. You will be responsible for the administration of the “Safety Certification Program for Dry-docking Facilities and Shipbuilding Ways for U.S. Navy Ships,” MIL-STD-1625.
You will meet and resolve issues for more than 80 certified facilities of varying types on a case-by-case basis.
You will plan, manage, and coordinate various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and other pertinent factor/system performance analysis.
You will participate with top management officials in persuading users to accept new systems or equipment.
You will conduct feasibility studies to analyze, evaluate, and determine the practicability and adaptability of proposed solutions.
You will define and coordinate analysis results with other engineers and managers.
You will determine and evaluate the efficiency of adopted improvements to ensure satisfactory progress and fulfillment of requirements.
