You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the NAVY CLOSURE TAKS FORCE-RED HILL DIVISION of NCTF RED HILL. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: (1) Knows and Understands the Oil and Hazardous Substance contingency planning and response; (2) Knows and Understands the recognized reference standards such as Integrated Contingency Plan, Facility Response Plan, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure regulatory requirements, federal, state and local environmental laws and statues; (3) Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers; (4) Delivers high quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement; (5), Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods. You will analyze existing conditions and formulate action plans for solutions to environmental and natural resource issues.
You will oversee the management of hazardous waste (e.g., consolidation, packaging, manifesting and shipment, disposal) to ensure compliance.
You will analyze collected environmental data to assess prevention and abatement efforts.
You will advise management on environmental compliance of facilities and operations.
You will plan pollution prevention for a department.
You will develop project plans for assigned programs by outlining environmental policy and identifying long and short-term goals and objectives.
