Job Description:
You will serve as an AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the Air Systems Group Systems Engineering Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or (DP-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, practices, mission, and organizational structure as it relates to Air Vehicle Engineering and Propulsion & Power Engineering, and Systems Engineering; (2) Developing and reviewing program technical and mission documentation which provides the basis for overall technical and engineering planning for the assigned systems; (3) Establishing and maintaining a functional engineering team structure to ensure that staffing and resource allocations are appropriate for the assigned effort; (4) Participating in the development and design of new or improved systems by assessing whether available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable to fleet operational requirements; (5) Developing project planning objectives including cost, schedule, and technical performance for engineering development of current and long range programs; and (6) Providing engineering guidance and recommendations in the issuance of Requests for Proposals, Statements of Work, Specifications, Procurement Requests, etc. to ensure that systems engineering management requirements are in contact documentation and met by the supplier. You will serve as a Deputy Aviation Operational Energy Engineer / Program Manager, an Integrator position working in support of Aviation Operational Energy.
You will work across various stakeholders, including Air Systems Group and multiple program offices, to develop and mature platform and enterprise level solutions with the intent to extend operational reach of current and future weapons systems.
You will maintain effective use of energy, by reducing energy consumption and external energy logistics requirements to forward deployed strike groups.
You will increase the effective use, conversion, storage, distribution and control of energy to enable integration of future weapons and sensors onto aircraft platforms.
You will ensure all technical and engineering requirements of the program are met including quality assurance reliability, maintainability, system compatibility, safety engineering, etc.
You will provide configuration management direction for design, development, production and fleet support of the assigned Air Vehicle and/or Propulsion and Power system.
You will maintain continuous contact with research and development personnel in order to be informed on all new engineering and scientific developments which might be applied in the design of the assigned weapon system project.
You will act as the ASG system engineering representative for assigned systems at program reviews, contract reviews, briefings, budget hearings, etc. and plan and chair a variety of conferences throughout the acquisition and sustainment phases.
