Job Description:

This National Guard position is for a EDUCATION SERVICES OFFICER - Title 32 (OBO), Position Description Number D2008000 and is part of the WI JFHQ G1, Wisconsin Army National Guard.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. Adult education: Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities. Educational program administration: Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs. Curriculum development or design: Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs. Teaching methods: Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner. Guidance and counseling: Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation. Career planning: Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems. Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information and resources. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must have at least 36 months of experiences that demonstrated the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (Competencies/KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position. Basic knowledge of Army vision, values, organization, policy, and mission is mandatory. Have some experiences in conducting or developing education programs. Basic understanding in the Army education policy requirements. Some experiences in working programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries. Knowledge is necessary of audio-visual presentation, educational tests and measurements, and instructing techniques.
As a EDUCATION SERVICES OFFICER - Title 32 (OBO), GS-1740-11, you will serve as the principal advisor and consultant within the State and has primary responsibility for the development, management, and administration of the education, incentives, testing, and guidance programs through budget management, personnel supervision, program management, policy development, and advisory services.
